Restaurant & Wild Food Dining
At Restaurant Klubi, we serve traditional Finnish and local Kuusamo cuisine inspired by the flavours of Lapland. Our menus feature fish from nearby lakes, wild berries and mushrooms from surrounding forests, local cheeses and carefully prepared homemade dishes using Finnish ingredients.
Yes. Our dining experiences are based on genuine northern food traditions, local hospitality and homemade recipes passed down through generations. We also offer traditional wild food dinners and Lappish dining experiences.
Yes. Restaurant Klubi also welcomes guests who are visiting only for dining. During the summer and quieter seasons, restaurant services are mainly available for groups of 8 people or more with advance reservation. During the winter season, our popular themed menus are typically served on Tuesdays and Fridays and can also be booked online in advance.
Yes. Vegetarian and vegan meals are available when requested in advance.
Yes. Please inform us about allergies or dietary requirements when making your reservation so we can prepare suitable meals for you.
Yes. All dining experiences and meals must be reserved in advance, usually at least two days before arrival, also for guests staying with us.
Yes. Private dinners can be arranged depending on availability and season.
Yes. Meals can also be served in our traditional Lappish hut Helekuta by the open fire for smaller groups. Available on request and by prior arrangement.

Accommodation & Cottages
Isokenkäisten Klubi offers hotel rooms, traditional lakeside cottages, AuroraHut igloos and seasonal guesthouse accommodation for groups and celebrations.
Yes. All hotel rooms have private bathrooms. Shared bathroom facilities are available in some cottage and guesthouse accommodations.
Bed linen and towels are always included in hotel and guesthouse stays. In cottages, linen can be rented separately or guests may bring their own.
Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available for all guests.
Well-behaved pets are welcome in selected cottages and also in the restaurant. A pet fee applies.
Yes. Late arrivals are possible when arranged in advance. Please inform us beforehand so we can organise key handover.
To preserve the peaceful atmosphere and natural environment, tents, hot tubs and camper vehicles are generally not allowed unless separately agreed for special events.
Yes. During the summer season, rowing boats and canoes are freely available for guests staying at Isokenkäisten Klubi.
Finnish Smoke Sauna Experience
A smoke sauna is the oldest type of sauna in Finland. It is heated slowly with wood for several hours, creating soft heat, gentle steam and a unique smoky scent deeply connected to Finnish sauna culture and northern traditions.
Seven Star Smoke Sauna also hosts special open smoke sauna evenings for individual visitors throughout the year. On these evenings, the sauna is a traditional mixed sauna for both women and men, offering an authentic Finnish smoke sauna experience in a relaxed and social atmosphere.

Guests are kindly asked to bring their own swimsuit for open smoke sauna evenings.
At other times, the Seven Star Smoke Sauna is available by advance reservation for private groups and special occasions. Private sauna experiences are ideal for families, travel groups, celebrations and company events looking to experience authentic Finnish sauna culture in peaceful wilderness surroundings.
The smoke sauna accommodates up to 15 guests, and the full experience lasts approximately 2 hours.
Wild food snacks and drinks are also available by advance order for an additional fee.
Yes. Private smoke sauna experiences can be booked in advance.
In winter, the smoke sauna experience includes the opportunity to try traditional Finnish ice swimming.
Please bring your own swimsuit. Towels, sauna hats, peat face masks, and traditional Finnish sauna whisks are included in the experience. In winter, wool socks are recommended when going into the ice hole.
No. Ice swimming is completely optional, but many guests enjoy trying this unique Finnish experience.
The full sauna experience usually lasts around two hours.

Yes. Most activities are suitable for beginners and guests with normal fitness levels.
We recommend weather-appropriate outdoor clothing. Our staff is happy to help you prepare for local conditions.
Winter overalls, boots and gloves can be rented separately and are highly recommended for winter activities.
Guest safety is very important to us. Activities may be adjusted or modified during extremely cold temperatures.

In Kuusamo, Northern Lights are usually visible from late August until early April during dark and clear nights.
Kuusamo is considered one of Finland’s most snow-reliable winter destinations, although weather conditions naturally vary each year.
Arrival & Practical Information
Isokenkäisten Klubi is located in the peaceful village of Särkiluoma in eastern Kuusamo, about 45 minutes from Kuusamo Airport and around 40 minutes from Ruka.
There is no public transportation directly to Isokenkäisten Klubi.
A rental car is highly recommended for flexible travel around the Ruka-Kuusamo area.
Yes. Transfers can be arranged with local transportation partners for an additional fee.
Check-in is normally from 16:00 and check-out by 12:00 unless otherwise agreed.
Yes. Free parking is available for all guests.
We have a small selection of souvenirs and local products. Grocery stores are located in Ruka and Kuusamo, approximately a 40-minute drive away.

Every season offers something unique. Summer brings endless daylight and peaceful nature, autumn colours the forests with vibrant ruska, winter offers snow and Northern Lights, and spring is perfect for sunny snow adventures.
We recommend layered winter clothing including thermal underwear, warm gloves, a winter hat and insulated outdoor clothing suitable for snowy conditions.
