Experience one of the most unique ways to stay in Finnish Lapland. The Arctic Overwater Aurora Huts at Isokenkäisten Klubi are located on Lake Heikinjärvi in Kuusamo, offering a rare opportunity to sleep directly above the water, surrounded by untouched wilderness, silence and northern skies.

Located just a short walk from the main lodge, these private cabins combine comfort with a deep connection to nature. Set in the remote wilderness near Ruka, they are ideal for travellers seeking peace, privacy and an authentic Arctic experience far away from crowds.

In summer and autumn, the huts float gently on the lake, accessible via a private pier. You can swim, fish, or simply sit outside and watch the light change over the water. From late August onwards, the Northern Lights may appear above the lake, visible directly from your bed.

In winter, the experience transforms completely. The huts rest on the frozen lake, surrounded by snow-covered forests and star-filled skies. Step outside into the crisp Arctic air, enjoy winter activities in the surrounding wilderness, and warm up afterwards in a traditional Finnish sauna.

Each hut includes a double bed, WiFi, heating and carefully selected amenities for a comfortable stay. The huts are equipped with a gas stove, and dishes can be provided on request. Electricity is produced sustainably using solar and biofuel energy, supporting a low impact stay close to nature.

Your stay includes breakfast and access to Isokenkäisten Klubi’s electric sauna and shower facilities in the main building at an agreed time or during the opening hours of the main building.
