Isokenkäisten Klubi is a family company which is concentrated on providing high quality tourist services, it is located deep in the nature, only a couple of kilometres away from the Russian border zone.
Our first customers were usually people from high ranking positions in Finland, nicknamed in Finnish 'the Big Shoe people'. Those highly respected men enjoyed their meals in our cosy hut, where the food was brought from our Kiviperä home.
Before having a good night's sleep in a Lappish hut or in an army tent, they relaxed in smoke sauna. We soon discovered that we needed a drying room. Without one, the customers' wet snowmobiling clothing was very difficult to dry in those harsh conditions.
That was the beginning of our Club Isokenkäisten Klubi and its surrounding buildings. So that is the true story of how it was named 'Isokenkäisten Klubi'. The name originates in its first 'Big Shoe' customers!
There is always a reason for a party. Although it is nice to have friends over for the evening, it does require some effort from the part of the host.
